I went to Buds on Tuesday night and the place felt like home. Friendly service and welcoming. We had Louisiana chicken add pasta. For dessert I had the beignets. All were very good. I recommend making a reservation.

This has been my go-to Creole/Cajun place for the past 5+ years (the owner has recently opened some new restaurants around SD, which I have yet to try). The quality has been consistent every visit! Food: Flavorful and not overly salty. Everything on their menu is worth trying. My favorite appetizers are the alligator sausage with fried pickles, their warm and buttery jalapeno cornbread muffins, and the soft shell crab appetizer. For the entrees, I sometimes tend to default to my favorites of the crawfish etouffee, or Taste of New Orleans with a fried soft shell crab / blackened catfish, and the shrimp and grits.

If you are craving a taste of New Orleans (also the same if my favorite dish. Get it with a fried catfish.) then you cannot go wrong with Bud's. I'm a big fan of the breading and they use on their catfish, as well as their etouffee. The taste of New Orleans dish, will get you a little bit of everything, and I highly recommend it.
